What a difference a day can make. I rode 33 more miles and climbed almost 1,800 more feet than yesterday and it was easier because the wind wasn’t in my face. I left early morning in the fog from Hastings and made my way up the Saint Croix River Scenic Highway to Stillwater, MN. The fog burned off quickly but it was cold. The day didn’t heat up until the late afternoon. I spent most of my day pedaling up and down smooth and safe roads. Drivers were very courteous and the rural scenery was beautiful. I couldn’t have had a more beautiful day to ride.

The Saint Croix River heading out of Stillwater

I finished my ride in Danby, MN and enjoyed a great chicken dinner in the “World Famous” Brass Rail bar and restaurant with my great traveling companion, Cindy. I must admit that I’m tired and it’s only 8:00 PM but I’m ready for bed.

A farm market where I had lunch, two apple turnovers. So healthy!
