Glacier and the Teepee

Yesterday we drove to Glacier National Park. It was cold and there was a stiff wind blowing from the west. The Sun Road was open but only to mile thirteen. Snow blocked the rest of the mountain pass. I decided without much hesitation that I’d prefer to watch the US Open in the large mountain lodge next to the park entrance. Donna, Butch and Bernie drove the van to the turnaround point and Butch and Donna rode back down to the lodge while Bernie followed. They did see a grizzly bear on the way up. I instead made friends with the bartender who was as big as a grizzly bear and we had a good time watching golf. I’m not disappointed with my decision since I had already ridden the entire Road to the Sun.

After a nice meal at the lodge we headed to Kalisbell, Montana where we stayed at a ranch and slept in teepees. Since the temperature dropped to 28 degrees and the teepee wasn’t heated I was glad to have enough cold weather gear to get a good night’s sleep. I did dream that at one moment I was a teepee and the next moment I was a wigwam. I told the owner of the ranch about my dream and she told me I was too tense. 😂.

Following a great breakfast at the ranch house and saying goodbye to the pet bison we headed to Idaho.

I would have preferred the temps you experienced to the ones here - morning temp 85 degrees F with 81% humidity. It was awful! Wanted to be outside but it was too awful. Keep on keepi' on, Ted!
