Ron and Jacob race past a controlled burn.

Today I am a happy man. The roads from Charleston to Georgetown were much less traveled and of course safer. We had a nice tailwind and relatively smooth pavement and not much effort was needed to complete the 98 mile day.

Again I was called a number of derogatory names by young white guys that must have read a QAnon conspiracy theory that bikers eat Southern children. I don’t get their hostility towards us. Oh well, there are many things I don’t understand.

Tonight we are staying at a Methodist Church in Georgetown. It’s a great facility and members of the congregation severed us a wonderful Mexican dinner. Everyone is in bed and it’s only 8:55 PM. I guess 98 miles of continuous pedaling will really tire you out.
