A Hard Easy Day

On my route to Lincoln City, Oregon

Beautiful scenery along the road

I should know by now that there really isn’t a truly easy day when you’re biking the US for MS. Maybe I was just tired today or the two long climbs wore me out. It was only a 57 mile day that I peddled at a moderate pace. The problem I ran into was that I couldn’t decide how to dress. In the shade I was cold and in the sun and while climbing I was hot. Even during moderate climbs I was roasting by the time I reached the top of a hill and then I was frozen after descending. I’m sure this will be the pattern while riding the Pacific Coast. I’ll figure out how to dress by the time I reach San Diego. Tonight we’re staying in Lincoln City, Oregon. It’s on the coast but the church we’re staying at is blocks from the ocean. I don’t feel like exploring this evening so I’ll just hang out and rest for our 77 mile day tomorrow.
