My new riding family

Waiting for the ferry
Today I began my journey from Seattle to Dan Diego with my new riding family. After a group picture at Pike’s Market we rode the entire one mile to the ferry and enjoyed the ride to Bremerton. Once we disembarked we rode in large groups to Shelton, Washington. It was only a 43 mile day. I believe the route leaders like to break the new riders in slowly. Everyone seemed very capable of completing this ride without problems. Ok, of course you know, I’ve now jinxed the entire ride. The ride was really uneventful. From Bremerton to Shelton looked like riding through Western Pennsylvania, green foliage, some lakes and hills. Nothing spectacular like I’ve become accustomed to. I don’t really the scenery changes much until we hit the rugged Oregon Coast. Tonight we’re sleeping at a “Warm Showers” establishment. It’s very cozy and Donna our host has been very gracious. I’m sleeping in her back yard near the chicken coop. Life couldn’t be better.
