Doc Jeremy

The Libby Dam

Kerri, Jim, Jillion and myself. Teachers Rule!

Didn’t see a car or truck for 40 miles. However, I believe I heard a grizzly.

This morning many of us following Jim and his Lincoln County Teachers out of Eureka on a less traveled road. After a steep climb out of town the road straightened out and became very scenic and enjoyable. It was interesting talking to the Montana teachers about there jobs. They loved their jobs and the well behaved Montana students. Jillion, a high school art teacher, completed her student teaching in the Pittsburgh City Schools. She said teaching in Montana and living on a small ranch with her husband was what they both had dreamed about while attending Penn State. Today after the first rest stop, I rode with Jeremy. He’s a neurologist from Arizona. He’s one day older than me and 10 years faster than me. He graduated college at the age of 19 when I was still doing my third tour of the 8th grade. He graduated med school at 22. He’s fast, real fast. He is one of the leading neurologist in the country dealing with ALS. Jeremy pushed me on my climbs and helped me to increase my speed leading into the ascents. This should help me when we have to climb the Cascades in Washington. You CAN teach an old dog new tricks. We safely arrived in Libby, Montana where Pastor Ed and his congratulation provided us with a great meal and a comfortable place to stay. Tomorrow we have 95 miles to Sand Point, Idaho.
