I was rooting for the horse and the horse won!

After the Storm

Today was supposed to be a very difficult 102 mile day but with smooth rolling roads and a slight tailwind it was the easiest century ride I’ve ever done. However, I’m tiring of the prairie at this point. There’s only so many cows you can “moo” at. Tonight we’re in Wolf Point, Montana. It doesn’t seem as bad as everyone was saying. Maybe because the state rodeo is taking place here the residents are on their best behavior. A group of us went to the rodeo. It started off with a bang with the first four cowboys being immediately tossed from the broncos in a most violent way. An ambulance was needed for one of the riders. After that things seemed to go down hill from there and it seemed boring to me. We all felt the same way so we left early which I’m glad we did. A massive storm hit Wolf Point as we hustled back to the church where we are staying. A few people pitched tents in the church yard which were blown down by the time we arrived. The storm kicked up a mini sandstorm and I’m still trying to get the grit out of my teeth. The only good thing about the storm is that it cooled things off. Before the storm hit the temperature was hovering in the high nineties. Tomorrow we head to Glasgow, Montana. The town is 450 miles away from The nearest large city and is known as, “The Middle of Nowhere.” Can’t wait to get there!
