Against the Wind

Today’s ride was brutal for the first 50 miles. After saying goodbye to our gracious hosts, Nettie and Jack we headed out of Bismark into the face of the wind. Today I rode with Sarah and Adam. Adam joined the ride in Bismark and I rode the UK with him. They say misery loves company so I was glad we shared this tough day together. Not only did we have the wind to deal with but the hills seemed endless. We climbed only 2,500 feet today but it it felt like much more because of the wind. The roads were good without many cars and trucks. That’s always a plus. At mile 50 the wind died down and the hills disappeared, so the last 18 miles were a real breeze. Hallelujah! We’re staying in a community center in Hebron, ND. Great place but I’m getting tired of taking cold showers. Not much hot water in North Dakota, hopefully Montana has hot water.
