Ready to Ride

(Main Street of Fargo)

Today I met the people I’ll be riding with. There’s a mixture of young and old. I believe I’m not the oldest rider and it will be interesting to jump in with people who have been riding between 60 to 100 miles a day for the last month. It will probably take me awhile to get up to speed.

I had to walk to Minnesota to mail my bike travel bag to San Diego where my ride ends. The bridge to Minnesota was about two blocks from my hotel. The bridge spans the Red River that forms the state line between North Dakota and Minnesota. I did my last minute grocery shopping in Minnesota and then Kelly, one of the route leaders, picked me up and took me to the church where we are staying for the night.

We had a taco dinner provided by the members of the congregation. I can’t seem to get away from Mexican food even in the far north.

I’m having trouble adding multiple pictures to the blog because I don’t have internet service.

My ride begins with an 80 miler. The weather prediction is good so I’m looking forward to a great ride.
