“Hello, British Airways, have you found my bike yet?”

I knew I’d jinx myself from the things I said in my last post. Cindy and I arrived at Heathrow Airport, London and soon discovered that my bike and her luggage were still somewhere in the Philadelphia Airport. American Airlines said once our luggage made it to Philly it was no longer their problem and was British Airways responsibly. British Airways has no tracking records of our items so it’s officially lost. So instead of doing a little sightseeing, Cindy and I have been on and off the phone all day with both airlines with no success. We’re going to try again tomorrow to resolve this issue. I can always rent a bike but my original bike fits me perfectly and has been geared for the hills of Scotland. It also has a specialized seat that is comfortable. I’m not sure I can rent a comparable bicycle. In addition to my bike, my travel bike bag contained all of my riding clothes, rain gear and helmet. I guess I’ll have to give the airlines another day before I hit the panic button. As Scarlet O’Hara said in Gone With the Wind, “Tomorrow is another day!”

On a brighter note, Cindy and I took a short walk along the Thames this evening and enjoyed the wonderful sights.
