One more long day that should have been easy, wasn't. I was ill from the food the night before, that was my expert diagnosis. The first 45 miles were on smooth roads with a nice tailwind but I couldn't enjoy this blessing because my mind was on my churning stomach. I did take some medication that I bought at the Dollar General during a rest stop and that helped me make it to our destination. Also knowing that Cindy would be there was a huge incentive. I arrived at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Palatka, FL feeling spent and not wanting to eat. However, James and I posed for a picture with our national biking shirts.

I felt bad because the church members had prepared a delicious spaghetti dinner. All I wanted was some chicken noodle soup and toast. I knew I had to eat if I wanted to finish the ride on Sunday, our last day.

(We all signed the trailer door which all groups do the night before the final day)

Cindy arrived to find me wiped out and took me to a local restaurant for the much desired soup. However, the restaurant had only one soup and it was broccoli cheddar. I settled for a toasted cheese sandwich and a ginger ale which I forced down. I returned to the church in time for our team meeting. I saw the delicious meal that had been prepared and listened to everyone rave about it. It was disappointing that I wasn't able to eat this wonderful meal. At the meeting we listened to Kaylyn give us our last day itinerary. Kaylyn is only 23 years old but she has the organizational and people skills of someone much older. She's amazing and we all love her. Cindy left the church to head to St. Augustine and I immediately headed to my air mattress on the floor. I needed sleep!
