(The Brits dress for the cold)

Today was a more difficult ride than we had expected. As I've said, shorter mileage days are not always easy days. The morning was even colder than the day before and it took us 20 miles of peddling before we warmed up. As usual, in that 20 miles, we manage to miss a turn and add an extra mile. It was on this day that my ride almost ended. While trying not to miss a turn I stretched to read a sign at the same time as Dick slowed down. I ran into his back tire and my front tire immediately turned to the left and I was going down on the asphalt at 15 miles per hour. The angle that I was going down had me landing on my shoulder and possibly my head. However, somehow I was able to right my bike at that last critical second and I miraculously avoided a fall. James, who was behind me said that it was an acrobatic move. I believe my earlier experiences on dirt bikes was the key to pulling out of the crash. After a number of bumpy roads and rolling hills, (Florida is not completely flat) we arrived at O'Leno State Park where we camped in very cramped quarters. Kaylyn, Jame, Kelly and Shanon declared that tonight was Thanksgiving. That meant that we had to clear out our food cubbies and use what we had to make our meals. The mac and cheese dinner I made using broccoli cheddar soup didn't sit very well with me and I had a very rough night and 93 mile next day. Today was not the best day.
