Day 46 - Tailwind

Today we rode 87 miles and we averaged 17 miles an hour. The roads were relatively flat and the wind was out of the west which was a tailwind for us. Today was a very easy day! Leaving Pensacola was a breeze and the beautiful homes along the way kept us intrigued as to who owned them and what professions they were in. One home looked very Mideastern with gold stone eagles guarding the driveway that had a gold and white Rolls Royce parked at the entrance. Another had a child's elevated playhouse that could house a family of six. The homes faced the Gulf so the owners' views had to be spectacular.

The ride was fast but uneventful. We arrived at Defuniak Springs, Fl at 3:00 where we're staying at a Methodist Church. The women of the church prepared a great dinner for us and they were extremely kind and appreciative of our cause.

Tomorrow we're camping out and the temperature is supposed to dip to 41 degrees. It's probably warmer in Pittsburgh. Oh well, I finally get to use my cold weather gear in Florida.
