(Early morning in the church)

Even though today was an 80 mile day that consisted of small rolling hills and a bit of a head wind, I thought the ride was easy. The morning was very cool and we all put on colder weather gear. The country side we rode through looked like Pennsylvania on a chilly late September morning. The roads were tree lined and wound around small farms with a few cows grazing in the fields. We were surprised at our first rest stop to see a tractor pulling our van out of a ditch. Three point turns on a narrow farm road don't always turn out well.

The rest of the ride was very pleasant and we arrived in Franklin, LA at about 3:30. We're staying at a church and when we arrived we met our newest rider, James. We now have three guys named James. We have deemed our newest James, Jimmy. We're now up to 13 riders with 9 of us doing the entire 3,070 miles.

(Road party)

We ate at a great Japanese restaurant and as usual went to bed at 8:30.

Tomorrow we enter Mississippi.
