Before we left New Roads, LA we stopped at a small dinner for breakfast. As we walked in we were greeted by a group of local gentlemen who were very impressed with our cause. One man donated $50 dollars and another paid for all nine of our breakfasts. It seemed as though the entire restaurant was ramping up for the LSU, Auburn football game.

We had a smooth ride out of New Roads and at about mile 10 we crossed the Mighty Mississippi. The bridge was massive and the view from the middle was incredible.

It was one of our shortest days but as usual it wasn't one of our easiest. When you entered any big city there's always trouble. Today's problem was riding a heavily traveled road with potholes. To put it bluntly, today's ride was dangerous.

We did have a Baton Rouge news station send a cameraman out to cover our ride. We're hoping the story will air tomorrow but I'm sure it will air only if it's a slow news day.

Tonight we're staying at a beautiful Baptist Church. After arriving, James, Dick and I went to the Louisiana Mall and had a few craft brews and watched the LSU, Auburn game. Later we watched a movie in the Pre K classroom at the church. We watched 'The Fast and the Furious' surrounded by miniature furniture and children's bibles.

(All dressed up for our 15 minutes of fame)
