(I'm thinking of opening a barber shop once I get back home. I'll be specializing in Mohawks)
We finally have smooth roads and long flat straightaways. The ride today was very uneventful as we traversed roads that seemed similar to the roads in eastern North Carolina. There were evergreens interspersed with various deciduous trees. Wildflowers lined the road.

Our rest stop was at a gas station next to a donut shop and a general store. At the general store in Honey Island, TX we learned that it was laundry day for the locals.

It was sad as we entered Silsbee, TX to see all of the devastation left behind by hurricane Harvey. This area had recorded 58 inches of rain. We're lucky that the roads were clear but seeing the debris left behind was shocking.

Tonight we're in a quiet campground outside of Silsbee. Tomorrow we say goodbye to Texas. I can't wait!!!
